Australian Gold Week
The Australian Gold Council has begun celebrating Australian Gold Week to highlight different aspects of the gold industry including gold investment, gold jewellery, gold exploration and gold mining.
Throughout the week the Australian Gold Council will host events across Australia to celebrate gold, including an industry dinner at the Perth Mint.
Gold is one of Australia's most lucrative products and the Australian Bureau of Statistics says its export was worth almost $5.5 billion to Western Australia last year.
As part of Australian Gold Week a Gold Jewellery Spectacular will be held in Sydney.
AngloGold Ashanti's jewellery collection features modern gold pieces ranging from mini-skirts and bras through to head pieces and amulets.

The show will be at the Sydney Opera House from Thursday, 14 April to Saturday, 16 April, between 10.00am and 6.00pm daily.
